Best I can tell 10/11/07 was the last day I was able to log in to my account at Legisi. On the 12th the server was permenantly shut down. Oh well ! Their goes my first venture into HYIPs'. I only lost a small pilot amount! I can't believe people put their entire life savings into Legisi let alone any program. Thats just plain stupid. The golden rule when investing in any venture is "Only invest what you can afford to loose!" As Nicolus Darvas said " Any form of investment is High Risk." That goes for investments that originate anywhere in the world. No investment has value unless those administrating know what they are really doing and have genuin integraty. I have learned alot about HYIPs' from this forum -- Thanks

I know, that's so sad. I read somewhere that some elderly people put their entire retirement fund into legisi. That is plain insanity!!

Oh it's much much worse than that... people took out second mortgages on their homes, a number of people were talking suicide.. I simply can NOT understand the mentality of anyone putting all their life savings or even all their risk capital in any one place.. it just boggles my mind.
Hell I wouldn't trust ME with all my money I sure won't trust anyone else...there are people in Legisi with well over 100k that are talking like there is nothing to worry about and Greg is some sort of investing GOD, meanwhile others are planning to slit their wrists.. its a very sad state of affairs,
I don't know what is worse the sunshine club blowing smoke up Greg's ass about how great he is, or the people ready to end their lives over his blunders....
I just have to shake my head reading the posts from the people in that forum talking about how great an investor Greg is, ummm yeah...my Dog would have the funds in better shape than some of the bonehead moves he's pulled.
Of course that's just my opinion and we all know I am just totally negative

lool..ok I know this is no laughing matter, but I have a rather morbid sense of humor and I can't help it. It is sad, but not at all surprising that some people took out second mortgages to invest in Legisi.
When greed gets a hold of you, rationality goes out the windows, because in all honesty no rational person would do what you say some people have done.
Hey I got an idea..why not start a HYIP and have your Dog manage the investments I'm sure it would become the next Legisi is no time flat..

You know I just left the Yahoo group for the Private Members of Legisi as the major form of entertainment there lately is telling me how bad a person I am because I won't pretend everything is ok just shut up and let Greg work his magic.. you know the magic that lost all that money in the first place...
So I do understand what you say about it's not really a laughing matter but I just can't muster the energy to feel sorry for someone that is stupid enough to invest their livings savings ANYWHERE in a lump sum let alone an online "loan" I mean I'm sorry I want to be a good person and all that but that is just so stupid it deserves to be laughed at.
I honestly have tried to put myself in those shoes, but the fact of the matter is I simply can't it's like people that fall for the Nigerian scams.. I know it happens but I just can't imagine how someone reads an email from someone they've never heard of asking them to help them move milions of dollars out of the country and then here is how you can help, just reply to this yahoo email address.. huh????
I have never hid the fact that I put money into Legisi, I put in a very very small amount of my total investment funds, did I think it was going to last forever? Of course not. Did I invest more than I could afford to lose? Never in a million years. Did I get my seed money out as quickly as I could? Damn right...but by saying those things it seems that makes me a bad person for not feeling any sympathy for people that behaved like complete and total morons.
I really do wish the people with money stuck in there all the best but I don't know what's worse the fact that their lives depend on this money or that they don't see that what they did was wrong.
If you could read some of the posts in that Yahoo group it would literally want to make you climb through the screen and just grab some of those people and shake them and say WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?
Ok, I think I've vented enough.. that feels better thanks.
Oh I don't know if anyone else is involved but I know someone that ponied up some dough for Mazu's latest venture when he split from Legisi and so far the money has done a runner with NO replies from the admin... birds of a feather and all that..

Re: Legisi
TraderJ, I think you misunderstood the meaning of my opening sentence. I meant to say that I too cannot help but laught at the sheer stupidity of the people who put all their financial resources into Legisi. What I meant by the "I know it's no laughing matter" is that some people are obviously gonna label me as "evil" or "mean" for not having any pitty for their plight, but sorry folks, some people do it to them selves by risking what they should NOT. I understand some folks putting in what they can "afford to lose" (I hate that term as in reality nobody should be able to "afford to lose" anything, but I digress), but placing your HOME on the line is plain INSANITY.
If I found myself in that situation I think the "slitting veins" options would run through my mind more often than I would care to admit.
I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to lose large amounts online. The most I've lost is $450 so I can't even know how those people who risk losing their homes because of their carelessness feel like right now.
The funny thing is that a while back I was actually thinking of joining Legisi with a small "test" amount. But oh how such wise men hindsight makes of us.

No, no I understood you I was just more or less venting because exactly what you are talking about is what I have been verbally harassed for in other forums.. it seems we are all supposed to feel sorry for someone that decides hey I have a great idea you know that house we bought, yeah the single biggest purchase most people ever make in their lives, you know the one we saved for years and years to get the down payment for, the one that we pay a huge chunk of our monthly income to afford.. yeah that one.. lets put it all on the line in an online LOAN program run but some guy I've never met... or checked out

I admit I've lost more than my share of money, very little of it online as I have a pretty good smell meter, (obviously not perfect) but I've lost thousands before in the markets in a single trade etc.. but that is something I go into with eyes open and I am the one calling the shots and controlling my money...
I quite agree with you in regards to the "afford to lose" comment as much as I dislike it I have never put money on the line that if instantly gone would have any adverse effect on my life.

I realize now looking back I was very very lucky to be in so early, back when the rates were higher and I was able to get the seed money back and a little profit.. I don't expect to see a penny of the "money" in my account there and have already accepted that..due to my being in "profit" and the fact that I stirred it up a bit in the Legisi forum before they deleted all my posts hehehe.... ahhhhh good times...

Oh yeah in the trading arena I've lost a lot more than $450 - especially in the FOREX market. I guess you can say that I've learned my lessons the hard way but even still I never lost so much that I would be seriously hurt financially or emotionally. I think that's the key to managing risk. Find a comfortable loss or risk level and stick to it come hell or high waters.

Another thing that I find interesting is the psychological aspect. When you lose money yourself you are at least able to learn from your mistakes and make sure they don't happen again and you are more likely to own up to your mistakes. When someone else loses your money it is quite a different game. Most people feel as they are not responsible at all for the loss and end up placing ALL the blame on that person. They don't learn anything from that experience and they aren't able to take responsibility for what happen. Remember people, it doesn't matter what the effect is, YOU are the cause of both your demise and your success (with obvious rare exceptions of course).

hahahah..yeah, I admire the fact that you stood up against the majority opinion or what I call the "herd mentality" or "sheep" or "sheeple" (I can think of more derogatory terms but I doubt you'd want to hear them lol).
Consent is the number one thing that a wise admin of a scam must build. It is imperative that a "clique" develop of loyal followers who will gladly follow you to their financial slaughter and come back for seconds. In that sense I am not surprised that the forum admins deleted your posts.
I just hope I don't see a "How-To" manual on how to run a successful HYIP Ponzi scheme and hopefully I won't be quoted lool

Re: Legisi
I have been in Legisi since
August of 2006. My first payment was paid as agreed. My big payment was due in August 2007 and I am still waiting on my money. Some days you can get on the web site, other days no such luck. If I were you, I would turn and run.

I did not put all of my life saving in Legisi, but I did put money in it. I called corporate Monday and was told when they get the money they will start paying. I told them that I would be calling every week to see if they have enough money. I was suppose get paid Sept. 14th; they went down

hmm....that sucks. I just tried their website and it's not loading so they're completely off the net. So what do you members intend to do? Take the hit and move on? Any legal actions against Greg McKnight?
