Pay Per Click Overview
I have started on Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising for about 2 years. It was with Google AdSense that I started with to be exact. Today, I'm using a few of them as alternative revenue source.
Google AdSense - Program has PPC and referral revenue possibilities. If you want to keep your account, strictly no surf site rotation here. Do not attempt to click on your own ads served to your site. First offense you get warned. Second offense and you get "disabled".
AdBrite - I use this as my main "advertising" channel on my sites. Pretty decent program. Allows you to serve ads from other PPCs if no one "buys" advertising on your site (for example: Google AdSense). I generally leave that option turned off.
BidVertiser - Think they give like $20 in free advertising when you sign-up as an advertiser. I did that and bought advertising for [SAI] Blog once. Did get a decent amount of traffic to my site.
Text-Link-Ads - Probably the most "hard a$$" program. Unless your site has a minimum Google PageRank of 4, Chances are you will not be able to "publish" any served ads or "sell" advertising space on your site. What you can do here is sign-up as an advertiser. TLA gives new advertisers $100 of free advertising credits. You can still participate as an "affiliate" like all the other PPC programs and make some cash.
Kontera - Strictly "inline" ads on this one. I recommend this program for folks who have little or do not wish to dedicate space on their sites solely to any PPC programs. "Contextual Links" appear in the body of your content area. You know it is a "Contextual Link" when you see "double underlined" links. Hovering your mouse pointer above these links brings up the ads. Running on JS, the folks here actually look at your site template and customize the JS to the "feel" of your site. No complains about this program. AdBrite is the only other program I know off that serves "inline" ads.
For those who are interested in any of these programs, I have banners on the sidebar of [PAI] leading to the sign-up pages.

Thanks for sharing my friend. So Adsense is the money churner for your sites?

Re: Pay Per Click Overview
As it is now, Google leads the pack for me. Due to their high noses, I don't really like them but that's where the money is so...
The SurfAdsInc Network via FeedBurner Advertiser Network (FAN) is in a very strong 2nd place. With the ads on both my WordPress sites and in my FeedBurner RSS Feeds, I'm not complaining. Application is strictly by invites only. Those who are interested let me know. this is definitely my personal fave
BidVertiser and AdBrite are doing about the same for me. I just started Kontera on [PAI].

Re: Pay Per Click Overview
Hi PAI,
Links are fine, in fact they are encouraged. The only links that aren't allowed are referral links in all sections, except the Advertising Folder. Thanks for the link!
JMO,
Sharon

Re: Pay Per Click Overview
Thanks for the clarification Sharon.
Posted another article yesterday. Would have post more but I'm having a very hectic weekend here. The next article will have more juicy bits.

Re: Pay Per Click Overview
I'm only saying this for the purposes of discussion, but...
Things like this - the web link, not this thread lol - I despise them. They contribute to making the internet a less worthwhile place to visit. Hundreds of turnkey websites controlled by one person cannot have good content, and are there solely for the purposes of making money. If you read my blog you'll understand why I say this, but I don't see trying to suck adsense dry as a good way to make money. It certainly doesn't give me much confidence as an advertiser, regardless of whether the websites are niched or not. Make a website for people, not money. Revenue will follow if you do.
Also, trying to claim that the bonus features within the package add up to $70,000 makes me laugh.
I read a paper from 1997 recently on the problems with PPC, which are still the same as today, and I have to agree that classic PPC isn't that great. It did inspire me to create something a little different of my own, but that's another story.

Re: Pay Per Click Overview
I apologize for haven't been active the past few months but I thought I shared a bit of news here. This was of course done without the use of multiple turnkey websites that can be bought thus explaining the modest payment received.

Re: Pay Per Click Overview
I am curious if anyone has heard of WideCircles internet viral marketing engine? I was referred to it by another webmaster. They work by publishing messages on various forum, blog, wiki, classified, etc websites. These messages then contain backlinks which help with SEO, as well attract lot of referral traffic. They bill around 0.40c per each post thats been active for 5 days and claim a single post can easily attract 100 or more hits a day, I am going to give them a try today and see how it goes. If anyone wants to check it out here is the link. http://widecircles.com?imt=2
