The rates remained unchanged as forecasted, bringing the Royal down about 60 pips from the annoucement. Amen to that.

I am more concerned about the interest rates as it applies to my home loan as opposed to any movement in the AUD in forex.

The housing sector has improved with overall building approvals going up and with the retail spending still on the increase it will just be a matter of time before the interest rates go up again as opposed to if. I hope everyone stops spending money so the rates will remain stable for a while longer.

Umm..I presume "Royal" is slang for the AUD? I'm familiar with the Cable, Kiwi, Aussie, Swissie, Loonie, etc, but not "Royal".
