Just want to share information with others about a company called The Forex Project. They are based in Chattanooga, TN and "ran" by Louis "Lou" Rivas. He does seminars and takes "investments" and guarantees a high return. I have money with him and have never received any payments. It appears to be a complete scam. Beware of them and EVERYTHING he says. He will lie to get your money and has proven it with me and several close friends.

I was introduced to the Forex Project in July 2007. Attended the seminar in Nashville, TN. Found it to be very informative & educational. I have traded my own account successfully with tools learned from the seminar. I also have money invested with Lou Rivas in Chattanooga and have received all payments in a timely manner as promised. I also know several others involved, and they have not had any problems as well.

I'm glad everything has worked for you. I do know several people who took the seminar and have done fairly well controlling their losses and even some who are making money. I know more, however, who have invested with Lou who haven't received their payments on time or at all. In my case it's "at all". I truly hope he makes a liar out of me but he certainly hasn't to this point and it's been several months.

Sorry for your loss, bobby. The "guarantee" should have been your first red flag. Promises of guaranteed returns are explicitly forbidden by NFA and CFTC. This joker probably isn't a member of either of these regulatory agencies so you must contact your state Attorney General and the Attorney General of Tennessee ASAP. Do it now before you waste any more time (and money).

I searched the NFA, under Luis Rivas, and he is registered with them, with no complaints. I was in the process of planning a seminar with them. I also know of several people that have attended and are very happy with the program and Luis' ability to pay them on time. I am gathering info to make my decision on whether or not to attend. Any help or info would be appreciated from anyone who has experience with them.

You might call some of those "several people" you know and ask them how their payments have been as of late. I know several who haven't received payments in quite a while and are not getting any straight answers. There seems to be some good tactics within their trading strategy but the company itself is completely dysfunctional. They are now saying it may be another 90 days before things get "worked out" within their organization and anyone sees another "monthly" interest payment. Good luck. Be cautious.

Ive been with the forex project as a client and I remember signing a contract that stated what organizations the forex project belong to. I think you received the same. I have no problems with Lou or his group. Also Mr Rivas is not the only person involved. You seem to talk for others why arent they placing comments also. You are one person in this group. So show me others then I can judge. You seem to have a personal issue with them. Show me proof.

Ive called several people that we're in the seminar with me and they are also clients they seem happy with The Forex Project. I also learned that Mr Rivas hires people who need jobs and by hiring people who have nothing can lead to mistakes. But its not a crime. It seems the man has a good heart. Maybe your payment was a little late but you always received your payments just like me. SHOW ME PROOF! Then I will reconsider my attitude towards them but for now Im very happy.

Manny, you're taking this way too personally. My comments had nothing to do with you, yet you seem very defensive. Your comment about me "always receiving my payments" couldn't be further from the truth. I signed a promissory note along with five other of my friends and none of us have received our money, and it has been several months. How much "proof" would you like. Honestly, I am not trying to convince you of anything. If you are happy with the "investment" you made, that is great and I'm happy for you. I am warning others about my situation.

I have spoken with Lou on several occasions since investing and he has given me numerous excuses and has lied to me in each of these conversations. The check is always "in the mail" or someone forgot to "drop it off" with Fed-ex, or I will personally bring it to you. NOTHING!

I agree with you that Lou hires people who need the job but I think this is for a reason other than to help them. He likes being a dictator and likes the control he has over people who MUST have the job. I have met several people within the organization and they have the same doubts as me. And there was never anything about organizations to which they belong, only a risk disclosure. They "follow" the NFA guidelines but I have found no proof of them belonging. Check it out yourself (NFA ID: 0110580). You can search it on the NFA website and see he is not registered as he claims, and hasn't been for several years. I hope some day I get to eat crow, but for now I'm stuck with chicken. You will be the first to know if I ever receive a red cent. And why the hell would I waist my time with this if I was receiving payments as you claim?
