Default Re: PC vs. Mac

I'm pretty much a PC user since the XT/ AT286 years, I'll still be sticking on PCs (unless I'm doing design work with Mac)

Vista is fine if you're running a fast system now; like mine, a Dual Core E6600 o/ced from 2.4ghz to 3.4ghz, 4gb ram PC667, 2 x Raptor X hard disks running Raid 0

Default Re: PC vs. Mac

This is the main advantages and disadvantages with the different platforms from my standpoint:

Linux/Unix:
+ optimized (no fluffy stuff), efficient, secure.
- not user friendly, hard to get official support.

Mac:
+ futuristic slick & easy to use GUI, flexible when it comes to OS (linux/windows/macos), fast.
- lack of applications/games, expensive, lack of choice for hardware components.

Windows:
+ easy to use, plenty of software and hardware support.
- insecure, no real feeling of control/overview of installed components/OS, too resource hungry.

Sidenote:
You can (or soon will be able to) buy macos just as you would buy windows, which means you will be able to run it on standard PC hardware.
