Re: Windows security musts
A bit OT, but I have to agree with opie, have always preferred portable software. You never have to worry about broken registry entries, files installed all over but not removed after uninstalling (dll's, config files etc.) but the best has to be the ease if you want to reinstall you OS (just backup, reinstall and copy over your application directories)... as it should be!

Re: Windows security musts
Oh whizzer, something like sandboxie. Running an emulator and have things running so if anything happens, the emulator will catch it and not the main OS.
mv dev/null :P lol.

Sandboxie is great but as other programs this one could have a bug exploitable, there is not 100% security.

Sure, but sandboxie is a nice addition to the arsenal.
Unfortunately I cannot use it last time I checked as I use Outpost Firewall Pro, which sandbox doesn't like (sandbox bug). duh!

Re: Windows security musts
While you are all at it, why not add another anti-phishing tool to your browser?
Try the Comodo VerificationEngine which is a site authentication tool. You can read all about it and download it FREE at Anti Phishing Site Authentication Internet Fraud Protection
Oh, I even tried it on some HYIP sites such as the4xtraders and Cambistex. Guess what, Cambistex is verified as an authentic site but somehow it does not authenticate the4xtraders site (I am referring to the Comodo SSL certification on their site). Not sure why? Could it be their digital certificate has expired?

Re: Windows security musts
Any thread dealing with Windows security (an oxymoron if I ever heard one) must include a word or two about routers. My two words - get one!
