Hmm..NetIBA is just an attempt by Stormpay to squeeze more money out of you, pure and simple.

Thank goodness I never touched stormpay.

I had a look at the newlifedesigners the other week, and it looks nice, not that I can say too much until I see what the results of some verifications are. I understand where everyone is coming from when you say that verifications aren't always worth that much at the end of the day. I never meant to imply that I wanted to create a verification system per se - but an analysis of previous ones might spark some ideas off.

Hi Judy,

I noticed that the 3 verified and the 1 pending aren't listed. Do you know which ones they have verified? Also, will they be showing the ones that they researched, but found to be unapproved?

Thanks,
Sharon

No program has been verified yet. They are on the "Verifications in progress".

Also quoting his site
Quote:
Names of programmes will only be divulged if and when the
programme passes the test.

Hi Sharon,

As Gaby says, the verifications are "in progress" - so who knows, they may or may not be verified. To answer the other part of your question, quoting from Organicman's site:

Quote:
The name of a company undergoing verification will only be revealed or published upon successful completion of the process. Failed verifications will not be published unless it can be clearly proven that the verified is deliberately publishing false information or is concealing the truth from its members. These companies will be exposed as failing or fraudulent.
It's good to know there are people out there who are willing and trying to do something about encouraging accountability in the industry.

As I have posted in the Safelist, Org will have an uphill battle to get this going but I admire his good intentions.

If the industry doesn't demand accountability from itself, then we can't get too upset when more formal regulatory bodies swoop in to try to regulate it.

Can't see self-accountability happening anytime in the near (or far) future. Take the large forums - MMG and TG - complete waste of viewing time in my opinion, but they hold a lot of sway when it comes down to it. They happily accept money from anyone who wants to advertise with them - how many people do they indirectly refer to a bad program that way? How much do they care? Very little as long as the money is rolling in I would say.

The real regulatory bodies will come into play more one day, and I will welcome that move. Although that would be one big enforcing job!
