LOL! Ok, this is fun. I'll tell you what, just to make this fair, I think we should each pick a date. The closest date wins. I pick October 1st, 2007.
When FX-Offer crashes, all losers send their $10 to the winners egold. We should probably keep bets at $10 just to keep it simple and not have to calculate odds, etc. If anyone is really into it, they may want to start a $20 pool or whatever.
Now what criteria, exactly, determines when it officially crashes?

Re: The FX Offer
Maybe I'm lacking a sense of humor today lol .. but what is the point of making bets here on this program? Seems a bit wrong to me, to do this ..
If you're going to make bets as to when a program will scam / close, then perhaps we should be doing this for every program out there ...
Perhaps I'm missing something here ...

Re: The FX Offer
Hi Dolphin,
The bets are a just on Andy, because it's such a joke that he's trying to make a comeback. It's all in fun. None of us really know how long it'll last. I know you're fond of saying that we don't have a crystal ball. And that is so true!
I'll take August 1st.
JMO,
Sharon

What's the point of betting on anything? Have a little fun and maybe make a couple bucks in the process. I tried hard to see some kind of impropriety with this. Tried to look at it from all points of view. Well, it took me about 30 seconds...this is HYIP! Ya' gotta be kiddin' me, right?!

Sharon, I'll take you up if we can agree what determines failure of the program. Website closes, payouts stop, and Andy drops from sight for longer than a week and/or three major monitors declare it dead? I'm just throwing out ideas here.

Re: The FX Offer
I think that when the blogs start reporting that it is dead is good enough for me.

I'm working on a "wager" script as we speak, I thought it was a good enough idea to pursue. Most of the basics are ready, just member history area and (crucially) a secure egold IPN to produce. Slight javascript bug in Internet Explorer too, but that's IE for you.
Going back to the idea of what could constitute the "end date" of a program for the purposes of a wager, does anyone have any ideas on criteria that could be used - other than relying on bloggers?
Sorry if this is hijacking the thread a little, but it seems relatively on topic to be honest!

I am a once and future blogger, so I don't know if this qualifies, but I developed an algorithm for generating something called the "hope quotient" - when that baby goes negative, you know the program in question stepped over the threshold, and there ain't no comin' back.... Let me know if you're interested, and I'd be glad to sell you the rights for a fair price.

Re: The FX Offer
LOL i'm intrigued - the hope quotient huh, how does it work? What kind of factors does it take into account?

Re: The FX Offer
Sorry to continue off topic with this, but I think wagering on the end date of a program is a fun idea. One concern though, how are you going to prevent the admin of the program from jumping in?
As far as the FX Offer goes, it is already in the dogpile.
