I'm actually not very happy about the adsense targetting on my video blogs. (I have plenty of text in each post too).

Maybe its because the subject areas are so random but say I post about the kentucky derby 2 days ago... and am posting about paris hilton today... the kentucky derby related ads are finally what appear on the front page of the blog today.

I've been wondering if I should try to add some tags to try and feed adsense the correct keywords to target for each post.

Also has anyone here tried the Yahoo version? I believe only Americans are allowed to use it (?) but the earnings are supposedly better than adsense.

Sounds incredible I guess.. but he has repeated the same simple plan over and over hundreds of times. he works hard.

It works simply because he is patient and makes sure he never sends random traffic, so he gets fed the highest paying advertisers, not because of any tricky stuff. he can make money on a domain with just 20 clicks per day this way.

So why was that a model you wouldn't like to follow? ;-)
What he is doing is close to what the blackhats do, althought as far as I understand he is not throwing nonsense on these sites? I know some blackhats hit 50% CTR on many of their sites although this sounds hard to believe.

What he does makes sense, just not my kind of stuff. I am looking for building relationship with the readers and create a real long term business, not just money. The Adsense is only a side income for me.

The problem with Adsense and the other PPC earning models is that you can't control what's being advertised and you don't get rewarded for creating good content. In fact the opposite is more often true - the more trash you put on the page (as long as it is well focused), the higher your CTR is. When the user does not find what to read on your site, he looks for the links to go out and when the banner links are relevant, he clicks there.

Yes, only Americans at the moment. Though I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to register with some USA address and get the checks to Cyfrocash? That may worth trying (i'll probably give it a try)

Or we can just wait for them to open for international users. Don't know why they aren't doing that yet.

Some good tips hear and as said it is hard to know how much you will earn. If you already have a site then one factor that will have a big impact is the topic of the site. If you have a website related to something competitive such as finance or travel then the money you earn for each click may be way higher than a topic with very little competition. While no one is 100% sure what the ratio is of how much you get of the advistising share from Adsense you are naturally going to get much more on a term where advertisers are paying several dollars per click rather than a few cents.

Other factors that will impact your earnings include:
Your site traffic - obviously you won't earn much without traffic
Placement - People can ignore ads especially if they are in usual spots such as headers. If you have an article then why not put the Adsense unit in the middle of the article. You may get a much better click through rate.
Text colour - Google lets you edit the colour scheme of your ads. Rather than making them stand out in contrast with your site it's best to make them in line with your site design. Make the links the same colour as the other links on your page. This increases the trust in the links and boosts click rate.

It is possible to earn good money with Adsense and we are doing so but the amount will come down to your site.
