I have been told by a UK Police Officer that what money is traced, will be sent to Finland. Apparantly a guy called Hannu Kailajarvi is the crook behind it all and he's on the run!

I know about Hannu K., what confuses me is that some old members said that Mr. K. has already talked to the Finnish police and is collaborating with them.

Anita, are you swedish? I am and I'm confused. I'm thinking about going to the swedish police just telling them what i know. I guess the more people that reports Wincapita to the authorities, the more energy they will put into the investigation. The reason that I haven't acted yet is I guess the same as everyone else. I still have a small hope that it will return. But now it seems as the people that only a week ago was convinced ( on this forum ) even has lost their hope.

If we all just contact the police I assume the case will get more media attention which also could help us.. Do you guys believe that there's any chance for us to get our money back with help of the police? I've heard that finnish police is slow when it comes to these kind of matters..

What information have you got from your sponsors? Anita, what do the people you know that still believe in the club tell you. To me it just become more and more clear that this is a scam..

Hi Fubow. I am not Swedish nor Finnish.

I know that the police here won't do anything about it, and if they recover something most likely they won't return anything that's why I would appreciate Finnish members' opinion.

My sponsor, who is an old member still says that this has happened before and his sponsors...some say the same and the others are just waiting to get more news from the police, but honestly they all have been very silent about this situation and this bothers me a lot.

It seems that you guys have difficult to get any information from Finland. There is a lot of discussion related to this issue back here in our neck off the woods. Police has not mentioned anything useful, because investigation is in progress.
So I took liberty off make little translation from MTV3 web page(mtv3 is our largest commercial tv broadcaster), who last evening broadcast program which reviled something about this club. My translation may be little clumsy, sorry for that...

WinCapita leaders - Economic crimes and child molestation
40-50 persons who has made a small fortune now lives in Thailand, Pattaya area, told MTV3 45 minutes program.
This group of Finns spends time together and has also held Christmas lunch together. According to 45 minutes program, group has today held crises meeting to discuss ongoing criminal investigation related to WinCapita.
Currently National Bureau of Investigation is searching missing leaders of this investment club who fled away with all the club assets.
Finnish police estimates club gathered at least 50 million Euros from 10000 persons. It may in fact be Finland's biggest economic crime.
Number of reported criminal offences is about 40 and increasing. Largest amount of reported loss is about 500 000 Euros.
Sentences from economic crimes to child molestation
WinCapita leaders has previous sentences. One man has been convicted for outrageous dishonesty of obliger. Second man has been convicted for molestation of two children.

I am not a member, but for some reason I have been watching this scam very closely. It is all over the news papers and chat boards.

Finnish Bureau of Investigation have asked people who has information to drop email to this specific address krp-wincapitatutkinta@krp.poliisi.fi

Krp(keskusrikospoliisi) is short from Finnish Bureau of Investigation, Poliisi equals police. They have web page Poliisi but there is anything about this issue in english.

It may be that sponsors from overseas have shorter link to top of this scam. So I am pretty sure that finnish police would like to hear from you.

I have read the discussion here and now you don’t know what to do. I have a strong recommendation: Go to the police and bring at least the following information with you:
1. A background; about Wincapita, what you have lost. If you are Scandinavian, download the articles in the newspapers, for example WinCapita kan bli historisk brottshärva | YLE Nyheter | svenska.yle.fi and give them to the Police
2. Be open. Tell them everything you know. Ask them to help you. If they begin the work immediately the probability to get money back will increase (which I personally doubt. The money you have sent to Wincapita is gone for you. But not for the leadership and the sponsors. They spend now a nice time with your money in some Caribbean island or in Thailand etc. I can see them go to a luxury restaurant, order some delicious food with a French wine in the upper price level and cheer for you!).
3. And the most important in the current situation: You have to give the police the name and address to your sponsor. He or she who told you about all “advantages” with Wincapita and who took you in to this huge giant fraud. The sponsor has earned a lot. About 20 percent of your investment. Without paying taxes! The authorities want of course to know more about that person!

Someone, you give a very good advice. Trust me this is what I want to do now! Problem is that I made a deal with my sponsor, he would refund me if something happened so for now I won't go to the police yet.
