there is a great (short) article here about the basics of how ECNs work... plus a list of which banks provide liquidity to which of the major ECNs

FX ECNs (electronic communication networks) - London FX Ltd

and another great article explaining how the spread works it way down from the banks, through the ECNs to the retail brokers and who takes what where.

E-Commerce Pricing - London FX Ltd

(I guess this is kind of off topic.. thought it was interesting though)

NF has changed a lot in these months and it's working great, they are only accepting credit cards and wire transfers now. In fact you are disconnected less than others like IBFX. The problem with NF is that they limit your stops, but I see more spreads in IBFX than NF in most of cases. And they work more hours than IBFX...

I want to try an MT4 system EA so have been thinking about funding a live account there for that.

If anyone knows more about NF or has a better suggestion, I'm all ears too

For example you can not open a buy/sell stop/limit or TP from the current price in some pips (if I remember well it was 10 pips). Marketiva did the same some months ago limiting stops. Other brokers using mt4 has not this limitation (for example IBFX).

hmm..I'm going to give efxgroup a shot, maybe I'll regain my original zest for forex trading before I got my ass kicked by the market...or was it InterbankFX. The sad thing is that since I'm not an expert yet I don't know if I got stop hunted or if IBFX robbed me.

Btw Jose, thanks for releasing your forex system out there. I'll be giving it a shot in the next few days on an efxgroup demo

You can also consider mbtrading. Efxgroup uses the platform from mbtrading although efxgroup has changed the website and you can now trade through a website instead the program.
