Default Re: CRYPTOCard

My husband uses one for accessing his work PC outside the office and it is a magical little thing, but unfortunately it is a one-to-one relationship so I can't use it for e-Bullion!

I do use EST NOD32 antivirus and Spybot regularly. Indeed NOD32 uses heuristics to detect key loggers and the such and it picked up a potential problem web-site on a Google search before I entered it - apparently it had a Trojan attached.

Hope this helps.

It's a little tad expensive and the fees of e-Bullion would have killed my account pretty fast since I'm not using it frequently.

Paula, could I ask what does your husband use e-Bullion for? Just a little survey.

Smile Re: CRYPTOCard

Of course Jude - it was supplied by his employers as he travels a lot and has to get onto the company site for information. So there is a VPN with security but the cryptocard is used to generate the one-time PIN code for access as it is new each time and has a thirty second time limit for each PIN entry, and so is a lot more secure than a traditional passcode. So even if you had some sort of key-logging and got the PIN, it would be useless as he would have used it, or it would have timed out.

The battery lasts for ages - but I have heard that if it goes flat, you have to get the whole thing sorted out because it loses its memory.

Hope the helps in your survey,

Paula
