Default MrTenPercent

Someone in a private group asked about MrTenPercent. I looked at the site and immediately started digging into their DD, because their stats looked completely fake!

There is so much lying on this site it's not even funny. I'll put the DD inconsistances in the DD folder. As far as the site, here's what I found:
  • Online for 7 months, but the rest of the stats are obviously faked. There is exactly 1 cheerleader in TalkGold for the first 5 months, then very few posters. Talkgold only has 6 pages and is claimed as their forum on the 1 rating site that they are promoting. MMG only has 2 pages! Also, Alexa doesn't support the high number of active accounts that is claimed.
  • Upgrade pays 5% forever. Get real! Other ponzis can't even sustain 5% for 30 days for very long. The upgrade expires when you cash out. The last site that tried the "upgrade lasts until you cash out" lasted ~1 month. I speculate that the only reason this one is still around is because the membership is very low.
  • 30 day money back guarantee. ROFL! The only reason people would want their money back is if they stopped paying. If they stopped paying, what are your chances that they'd pay you your money back? Plus, there is nothing about the guarantee terms in the terms of service.
  • There is a clause in the terms of service that says that unverified accounts are deleted in 10 days. So, they must be requiring identifying documents. Watch out for sites, other than payment processors, that require ID documents. They may be intending to sell or use your information for identity theft. Their privacy policy only covers your email address.
  • They have conflicting information. The site says that the 50/50 rule is in effect for cashouts over $500. However, I found posts by MrTenPercent saying that it's 10% over $100.
  • According to the few posts is looks like they had payment problems from Dec '06 - Mar 14, '07. They claim that they're all caught up on payments and some posts and votes agree. However, 4 months of payment problems is a big red flag. Some forums and monitors have moved it to the scam folder.
  • Several posts by MrTenPercent hint that the take the deposits and invest them in other ponzis. Which takes this one out of the complete ponzi category, however we don't know which sites and investing in other sites is not a good outside income source.
  • I found evidence that this surf launched in Feb '06 and only lasted a month. A couple of posts say that they received a refund from the first failure.

Final conclusion: Steer clear of this one!

JMO,
Sharon
