Re: I’d Be The Growlingest Bear on the Internet If Only I Were a Bear
My name is Rob Bennett. I am the author of the blog entry referenced above.
Why is there a link in the post immediately above to a site with the name "Rob Bennett" in it and an indication that I own this site when I obviously do not?
This sort of tactic is itself evidence of the problem addressed in the blog entry. I am the person who discovered the flaws in the Old School safe-withdrawal-rate (SWR) studies. The owner of the smear site is the author of an Old School SWR study. This site is his approach of "defending" the retirement claims made in his study.
Would this sort of thing be viewed by anyone as being even remotely acceptable in any field of human endeavor other than investing? It would not.
Why should the rules of what constitutes acceptable human behavior be different in the field of investing? I do not think they should be.
Does that make me a "bear"? I say "no." It makes me an investor who wants access to the best possible information to inform my investing decisions, nothing more and nothing less.
