Is there much trading? Does it slow down, speed up, less trades, more trades?

I will be assuming most legitimate programs and traders will take some time off which would expose some scams who will try and convince us it is the time to give all our money to them.

I spotted this thread and I would like to add my humble opinion about trading around Christmas.

There are a lot less traders around during the holidays thus less volume. Less volume will probably not affect your trades directly. You trades should/will get filled just as easily (depending on your broker ofc) no matter if you are trading 1 or 100 lots.

The way I see it - one possible scenario.

The real problem in having less traders around and thus less volume is the lack of consensus about what the market should do.

Some indicators and moving averages (like the 200 SMA) work because they are widely used. The same way S/R, pivot points work because they are widely used by the trading community.

So without a general consensus technical analysis can become unreliable during holidays.

Regards,
Dan
